This Fall I once again had the great pleasure of teaching at the Taiwan National University of the Arts (TNNUA) in Tainan County, Taiwan, renewing old acquaintances and making new ones in the “beautiful land“.

* Bill Lowe’s and my big band celebrated our 25th Anniversary at Williams College’s Chapin Hall on April 9th 2011 at 8 p.m.
* In 2009 and 2010 I visited Harvard to lecture in Bill Bares’ first-ever Jazz Harmony class there.
* In 2009 I was in Taiwan and China teaching and touring.
* Also in 2009 (July), Bill and I played with my quintet at the Toulon Jazz Festival in France.*My Jazz Composition book “Something Borrowed, Something Blue: Principles of Jazz Composition”, has been published by Advance Music.ON MAY 8th TOM McCLUNG and I performed a rare duo concert at the First Congregational Church in Amherst.

Woodwind Quintet Released
Last Fall I recorded my three movement woodwind quintet at Systems Two in Brooklyn.  John Clark, French Horn; Michael Rabinowitz, Bassoon; Ceora Jaffe, Flute; Marina Jaffe, Oboe; and the great Dr. Darryl Harper on Clarinet.  Darryl has released the piece on his recent CD:
